My favorite thing about August is the slowness at the start - those golden, slightly lazier days where the sun lingers a little longer, the pace softens, and there's time for one more iced coffee on our screened-in porch, one more dip with the family the pool, and one more date night in my favorite sundress. But there's also this buzz that comes toward the end of August-the University of Kansas just two blocks away from our house comes back to life as students return, and we can hear the sororities singing for recruitment week.
